Exivious was a Dutch technical death metal group formed in Utrecht in 1997 by guitarist Tymon Kruidenier. The band initially included Jan Henningheim and drummer Iwan Hendrikx, with Kruidenier handling vocals, and their early recordings featured computer-generated bass lines. In 2001, Exivious released their first demo featuring two tracks. Rob Van Der Loo joined as bassist, but the project was paused until 2005 when a stable lineup formed. Their self-titled debut album Exivious was released in 2009 before the band went on hiatus in 2010 as Kruidenier and Zielhorst focused on Cynic but reunited after leaving that group a year later. In 2013, Exivious released their second album Liminal, which was funded through a successful crowdfunding campaign. Exivious disbanded in 2017 following farewell concerts, citing a lack of interest in continuing the band's style. Their final release, Chrysalis - The Early Demos, compiled early demo recordings and was released in 2017.
