Jeremiah Johnson, known professionally as Nullsleep, was born on October 7, 1980. He is an American electronic musician and computer artist who co-founded the low-bit art collective 8bitpeoples in 1999. Johnson's early musical pursuits were influenced by the film Electric Dreams, leading him to take cello lessons and explore synthesizer-driven music. His first release was Wooden Polyurethane Papers (1999), followed by Click Bleep Click (2001). In 2002, he released The Gameboy Singles 2002, marking the beginning of his period working exclusively with video game hardware. He graduated from Columbia University in 2003 with a degree in computer science and music. Johnson's work has been featured in various compilations, including The 8bits of Christmas (2003) and 8-Bit Operators: The Music of Kraftwerk (2007). Notable releases include Unconditional Acceleration (2008) and several singles, such as "Ein Sof" (2012) and "Shadowtravel" (2013).
