Denis Azabagić, born in 1972 in Tuzla, Yugoslavia, is a Bosnian classical guitarist. At 20, he won the Jacinto Guerrero and Inocencio Guerrero international guitar competition in Madrid. Between 1992 and 1999, he secured 24 prizes in international competitions, including first prizes at the Alhambra International Guitar Competition in 1996 and the Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition in 1998. In 1993, Azabagić formed Cavatina Duo with flutist Eugenia Moliner, performing worldwide. He has released seven CDs for labels like Naxos and Cedille, as well as two DVDs for Mel Bay. Azabagić has performed with orchestras including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and at venues like Chicago's Symphony Center and the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
