Exit Clov, a five-piece indie rock band from Washington, DC, was formed in 2003 and is known for their "kaleidoscopic pop noir" sound. The group consists of twin sisters Emily Hsu (vocals, keyboard, violin) and Susan Hsu (vocals, guitar, violin), along with Aaron Leeder (guitar), Brett Niederman (bass), and John Thayer (drums). Their name is derived from Samuel Beckett's Endgame. The band self-released their first two EPs, Starfish and Saskwatch, in 2003 and 2004 respectively. In 2006, they collaborated with producer Roger Greenawalt on the Jolly Roget Sessions EP. Exit Clov has performed with notable artists such as Dr. Dog, Kanye West, and Architecture in Helsinki, and toured extensively across the United States, including appearances at South by Southwest (SXSW) and the All Good Music Festival. Their discography includes albums like Memento Mori (2010) and Jailbird (2013).
