Pepper Rabbit was an American indie rock, indie pop, and psychedelic pop duo originating from New Orleans, Louisiana. The group consisted of Xander Singh and Luc Laurent. Formed in the spring of 2008, the project began while Singh was recording a solo album in New Orleans. After inviting Laurent to play drums, the pair realized their creative synergy and established the band. They performed at local venues and gained early recognition at the Pop Montreal music festival in October 2008. Following the reception, the members relocated to Los Angeles. The band's discography includes several EPs, such as Shakes EP (2009), Clicks EP (2009), and Rose Mary Stretch EP (2011). Their first studio album, Beauregard, was released in 2010 through Kanine Records, followed by Red Velvet Snow Ball in 2011. Pepper Rabbit toured extensively with prominent acts including Passion Pit, Freelance Whales, Ra Ra Riot, Givers, and Braids. They also appeared at major festivals in 2011, including South by Southwest, Sasquatch! Music Festival, Northside Festival, and the Ottawa Folk Festival. On December 30, 2011, Singh announced the group’s dissolution via social media, and the band became inactive in 2012.
