Toxic Holocaust, an American thrash metal band from Portland, Oregon, was founded in 1999 by Joel Grind. Initially, Grind wrote and recorded all of Toxic Holocaust's music himself, releasing demo tapes Radiation Sickness and Critical Mass. The band made its official album debut with Evil Never Dies in 2003, followed by Hell on Earth in 2005. Extensive touring ensued, leading to a recording contract with Relapse Records. Under this label, Toxic Holocaust released An Overdose of Death... in 2008, along with reissues of their earlier albums. The band continued to produce notable works such as Chemistry of Consciousness in 2013 and Primal Future: 2019. Throughout its career, Toxic Holocaust has been recognized for its thrash metal style heavily influenced by punk, often compared to bands like Venom and Slayer.
