Eric Howden, a Canadian musician and multi-instrumentalist, adopted the recording alias Raised by Swans in 1997 following his departure from The Gandharvas. After composing his songs using a multi-track recorder, guitar, bass, drum machine, and keyboard, he released his debut album Codes and Secret Longing in 2005. His subsequent albums include No Ghostless Place, released in 2010, and Öxnadalur, released in 2014. Notable singles include "Sightings" (2013) and "Trains We Both Missed/Pale Blue Black Holes" (2016). Howden's music has been featured in several films, including Douglas Coupland's Everything's Gone Green and Atom Egoyan's Adoration (2008) and Chloe (2009).
