Dan Owe Michael Hylander is a Swedish singer, songwriter, and guitarist born on June 21, 1954, in Malmö. He performed his professional debut in 1962 as an actor in the television series Storskogens tomtefamilj. In the 1970s, he established the Raj Montana Band and participated in the founding of the label Amalthea. Hylander reached commercial success in 1981 with the studio recording September, which featured the track “Farväl till Katalonien”. He received Rockbjörnen awards for Best Swedish Band in 1983 and Best Male Artist in 1984. His discography included the recordings Bella notte (1982), Calypso (1983), and ...om änglar & sjakaler (1984). In 1986, he formed the group Kosmonaut and released the album Kung av onsdag. He co-wrote the Tomas Ledin recording Med vidöppna fönster in 2004. Hylander resided in Bolivia between 2007 and 2016. He reunited with the Raj Montana Band to record the album Indigo in 2019.
