Heiter bis Folkig, a German folk and medieval music band, was formed on 2004, in Franken and Hessen by Sebastian Barwinek and Christian Reiter. The duo initially performed at various events within the medieval, folk, and fantasy scenes. In 2010, four additional members joined, expanding their lineup. Heiter bis Folkig's musical repertoire blends traditional songs with original compositions, utilizing a diverse range of medieval and folk instruments, with a strong emphasis on multi-part vocal harmonies. Their style spans from serene ballads to lively drinking songs. The band's song "Tod und Mediziner" reached the top spot in Radio-AENA's 2008 year-end charts. They have released four studio albums: Der Tod War Da (2009), Bardensuppe (2012), Sonnensaiten (2017), and Der Tod War Schon Wieder Da (2019). The formation of the band was inspired by the Discworld novel series by Terry Pratchett, and the group has performed at the German Discworld Convention. Following the departure of Barwinek in 2013, Reiter continued with the group and a revised lineup.
