Earl Greyhound was an American rock trio from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2003 by singer/guitarist Matt Whyte. The band's initial lineup included bassist Kamara Thomas and drummer Christopher Bear. Their first release was the debut ep in October 2004, followed by their self-titled EP later that year. In 2006, they released their debut full-length album, Soft Targets, under Some Records. Ricc Sheridan replaced Bear just after the band recorded its first full-length album. In 2010, they released Suspicious Package under their own label, Hawk Race Records, and went on an extended hiatus shortly thereafter. Notable songs include "Oye Vaya" featured in several video games including NHL 10 and Need for Speed: Nitro, and "Sea of Japan" which appeared in the season four finale of Friday Night Lights. The band's last release was the EP Besides Seasides in December 2012.
