Total Slacker is an American rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2010. In its debut year, the group released two singles on independent labels and performed over 100 shows in New York, garnering international radio play. The ensemble's first drummer was Ross Condon, the brother of Zach Condon from the band Beirut. In January 2011, the group's single "Crystal Necklace" reached Number 36 on the Pitchfork readers' poll for the top 50 songs of 2010. The band released its debut studio album, Thrashin, in September 2011. On October 1, 2012, the band announced that its second drummer, Terence Connor, had been killed in a hit-and-run accident. Zoƫ Brecher subsequently joined the group on drums. Total Slacker released its second album, Slip Away, in February 2014 through Black Bell Records. This was followed by the release of the band's third studio album, Parallels, on August 19, 2016.
