Paul Curreri, born Michael Paul Curreri, Jr. on January 28, 1976, in Seattle, Washington, is an American guitarist, pianist, songwriter, and producer whose career focused on folk and blues. After moving to Richmond, Virginia at 13, he began forming bands and later studied painting at the Rhode Island School of Design before turning to music full‑time. His debut album, From Long Gones to Hawkmoth, was released in 2002 on City Salvage, followed by Songs for Devon Sproule (2003) and The Spirit of the Staircase (2004). In 2006, he issued the live record Are You Going to Paul Curreri, and in 2007 the critically praised The Velvet Rut appeared on Tin Angel and City Salvage. Subsequent releases include California (2009) and The Big Shitty (2012). Curreri has toured extensively, collaborating with Kelly Joe Phelps and performing duets with his wife, singer‑songwriter Devon Sproule.
