András Adorján is a Danish flutist born in Hungary in 1944. Adorján pursued flute studies under Jean-Pierre Rampal and Aurèle Nicolet. In 1968, Adorján won the Prix Jacob Gade and the Concours international de flûte in Montreux. Adorján secured first prize at the Concours international de flûte de Paris in 1971. Their career as an orchestral soloist includes work with the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Stockholm (1970) and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (1974). Adorján's recordings include Doppler - Kuhlau (1978) and 14 concertos pour flûte et orchestre (2014) by François Devienne. Adorján premiered the concerto Ground (1981) by Sven Erik Werner and the Concert pour flûte, harpe et orchestre (1996) by Edison Denisov. Adorján taught at the Académie internationale d'été de Nice and became a professor at the Musikhochschule Freiburg in 1988.
