Citron, a Czech heavy metal band, was founded in Ostrava in 1976. Initially known as Citrón and led by bassist Petr Michalík, the group played blues rock and released their first single "Tvých sedmnáct/Pantomima reklam" under Supraphon in 1978. In 1981, drummer Radim Pařízek took over leadership, marking a shift towards hard rock and heavy metal. The band's debut album Tropic of Cancer was released internationally in 1983. Notable albums include Plni Energie (1986) and Radegast (1988), both of which were certified Gold. Citron won the Zlatý slavík award for Band of the Year in 1988. The band continued to release albums, including Bigbítový Pánbů/Gods of Rock (2010) and Obratnik Raka (2017).
