The Jazz Couriers, a British jazz quintet, formed in London in April 1957. The group's initial lineup included Tubby Hayes and Ronnie Scott on tenor saxophones, Terry Shannon on piano, Malcolm Cecil on bass, and Bill Eyden on drums. They made their debut at the opening night of the Flamingo Club in Soho. In February 1958, The Jazz Couriers were selected by the National Jazz Federation to open for the Dave Brubeck Quartet during their first UK tour. Throughout their career, the band released four albums: The Jazz Couriers (1957), In Concert (1958), and Couriers Of Jazz (1959). They also appeared on BBC radio and TV broadcasts. The band disbanded in August 1959.
