Frederick Moyer, born on December 12, 1957, is an American concert pianist. He debuted with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at 14 and performed with the Boston Pops as a teenager. Moyer attended the Curtis Institute of Music and graduated from Indiana University Bloomington. Moyer's career includes performances with orchestras worldwide, such as the Cleveland, Philadelphia, and London Symphony Orchestras. He has released over 25 recordings on the JRI Recordings label, featuring works by more than 30 composers. Notable collaborations include commissions from George Walker, for whom he premiered Piano Sonata No. 4 in 1986. Moyer also became known for being the first pianist to make a commercial recording using the Bosendorfer 290 SE Recording Piano and has developed software programs to aid with practicing and performing music.
