Areknamés, a progressive rock band from Pescara, Italy, was formed in 2001 under the initial name Mors in Fabula. The group's founding members, Michele Epifani and Simone Antonini, had previously collaborated in Lentofumo during the late 1990s, later joined by Stefano Colombi to form Arco del Pendolo. After Piero Ranalli joined, they reverted to Lentofumo before eventually becoming Areknamés. In 2003, the band released their self-titled debut album Areknamés under Black Widow Records after sending demo recordings to various labels. Following several lineup changes, Areknamés released Love Hate Round Trip in 2006, which won an award at the ProgAwards. The band performed at the Burg Herzberg Festival in 2007, with a live recording from this event released as Live at Burg Herzberg Festival 2007 in 2008. Their third studio album, In Case of Loss, was released in 2010.
