23 is a German rap duo consisting of Bushido and Sido, both established solo artists who reconciled after an eight‑year feud that began in 2004. The collaborative project was announced in early 2011 and released on 14 October 2011 in standard, premium, and deluxe editions, with the deluxe version including a DVD and instrumental disc. The first single, "So mach ich es", was issued on 3 October 2011 and its music video was shot in Kyiv; the second single, "Erwachsen sein", followed on 25 November 2011 and featured German singer Peter Maffay re‑interpreting elements of his 1983 song "Nessaja." The album entered the German Media Control Charts at number 3 with first‑week sales of 36,897 copies, peaked at number 1 on the Swiss charts, and reached number 3 in Austria, where it was certified gold after seven weeks for sales exceeding 10,000 units. In 2012 the album achieved gold certification in Germany for over 100,000 units sold. The duo’s joint release marked a significant moment in German rap, illustrating a successful collaboration between two previously rival artists and contributing to the genre’s commercial visibility in early 2010s Germany.
