Panik J, whose real name is Jarold Beaubrun Diant, is a dancehall singer from Martinique, born on September 14, 1992. He began his musical career in 2011 with the track"Love d'elle", performed to an instrumental by Colonel Reyel, which brought him to the attention of the underground scene. This was followed by a string of festive tracks such as"Nou Anlè Sa" and"Physikal Gyal", as well as politically committed songs like"Sécurité routière", aimed at raising awareness against road accidents. In 2014, Panik J released his debut album, 2 Faces, produced by Chabine Prod, consolidating his place in the West Indian musical landscape. He followed this up with mixtapes such as Pursang in 2016 and 18 Carats in 2018. In 2023, he returned with the Paradise EP, offering a diversity of Caribbean sounds, from dancehall shatta to more acoustic tracks.
