Maggie Boyle (December 24, 1956 – November 6, 2014) was an English folk singer, flautist, and bodhrán player from Battersea, London. Boyle grew up in the Irish community, influenced by her father, a fiddle player from the Donegal Gaeltacht. During her youth, Boyle won All-Britain singing competitions through Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. In 1984, Boyle married Steve Tilston and joined the production of Christopher Bruce's ballet Sergeant Early's Dream, touring globally.Boyle released the debut solo album Reaching Out (1987), followed by Gweebarra (1998) and Won't You Come Away (2012). Boyle was a member of the groups Ship of Fools and Grace Notes, recording five albums including Down Falls the Day (1993) and 20 (2012). Boyle contributed music to the soundtracks for the films Patriot Games (1992) and Legends of the Fall (1994). In 2012, Boyle launched the Kitchen Songs project. Boyle died of cancer in West Yorkshire on November 6, 2014.
