Nikos Gounaris, born on March 3, 1915, in Greece, was a tenor known for his contributions to light music. He began playing the mandolin at age four and later attended the Athens Conservatoire. Gounaris gained prominence as a light music singer in the 1950s, with hit songs including "Ena vradi pou 'vrehe" and "Glikia mou matia agapimena". His repertoire often explored themes of love and betrayal. He composed approximately 400 songs and collaborated with Trio Bel Canto during the 1960s. Gounaris was particularly popular within the Greek community in America, performing at resorts like Sunset and Monte Carlo in upstate New York. He passed away on May 5, 1965, in Athens from cancer.
