Ivan Ricardo Blijden, known professionally as Ziggi Recado, was born in 1981 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He is a reggae singer of Statian descent who began his musical journey around 2002 after moving to the Netherlands to study. In 2004, he signed with Rock(N)Vibes entertainment and released his debut album So Much Reasons in February 2006. This album earned him awards for "Best Album," "Best Artist," and "Best Live Act." His track "Blaze it" topped the official German reggae charts. In October 2008, Ziggi Recado released his second studio album In Transit, which included hit songs like "Need to tell you this" and "Gonna leave you". Throughout his career, he performed at notable festivals such as Roskilde Festival in Denmark and Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands.
