Jade Williams, known professionally as Whinnie Williams and Sunday Girl, was born on May 21, 1988, in Sidcup, Greater London, England. She became known as Sunday Girl after working at a local pet shop as a teenager and overcame her fear of performing with the help of a hypnotist when she was 17. Her debut single, "Four Floors", was released through Polydor Records on March 28, 2010, followed by "Self Control" on July 15, 2010. Williams supported Ellie Goulding on tour in November 2010 and released her third single, "Stop Hey", in February 2011. She collaborated with Martin Solveig on his album Smash, performing "Let's Not Play Games". In early 2012, Williams signed with Universal's Island Records after her cover of Pixies' "Where Is My Mind?" gained success.
