WaT, a Japanese duo composed of Eiji Wentz and Teppei Koike, formed in 2002 when they met and began performing live street shows with their guitars. Their debut single "Boku no Kimochi" was released on November 2, 2005, marking their major debut, charting at number 2. The duo's first album 卒業TIME ~僕らのはじまり~ followed in March 2006, showcasing their blend of J-pop and pop music. WaT continued to release notable works including the extended play (EP) Bokurano Love Story in December 2006. The duo's second album 夢の途中, released in January 2008, further established their musical identity. Their singles "5センチ。" and "Ready Go!" were released in 2006, with "Hava Rava" following in August of the same year. The duo also released several EPs including 36°C, and 時を越えて~Fantastic World~in 2008. "Kimiga Bokuni Kiss Wo Shita" 2010) and "24/7 -Mouichido-" (2010) further solidified their presence in the J-pop scene. Eiji Wentz, who is half German-American and half Japanese, also gained recognition as a TV personality. Teppei Koike, known for his acting roles, added depth to WaT's performances with his harmonica skills. The duo's music often reflected their personal experiences and emotions, resonating with audiences across Japan.
