Francesco Piemontesi, born on July 7, 1983 in Locarno, Switzerland, is a Swiss pianist. He made his concert debut in 1994 and studied at the Lugano Conservatory of Music and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover under teachers such as Cécile Ousset and Alfred Brendel. In 2010, he released Robert Schumann: The Complete Works For Piano, Vol. 4, followed by Recital (2011), Schumann & Dvořák: Piano Concertos (2012), Mozart: Piano Works (2014), Debussy: Préludes (2014) and Liszt: Années De Pèlerinage ~ Italie (2019). He performed with various orchestras, including BBC Symphony Orchestra and Los Angeles Philharmonic, and was awarded the Borletti‑Buitoni Trust Fellowship in 2010 and the BBC Music Magazine's Best Newcomer Award in 2012.
