Twilight 22 was an American electro band led by Gordon Bahary, with Joseph Saulter serving as lead singer and co-songwriter. The group originated in the San Francisco Bay Area and is known for their contributions to electronic music, particularly within the electrofunk subgenre. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Electric Kingdom" on Vanguard Records in 1984. This single peaked at number 7 on the US R&B Charts, marking a significant achievement for the duo and establishing them as notable figures in the emerging electronic music scene. The success of "Electric Kingdom" paved the way for their debut album, also titled Twilight 22, released under Vanguard Records later that same year. The album showcased their distinctive sound and solidified their place in the electro genre. A follow-up single, "Siberian Nights", was released later in 1984 but did not achieve the same chart success as its predecessor. Despite their limited discography, Twilight 22 left a notable mark on the electro scene with their unique blend of electronic beats and funk influences.
