Josh Nelson, born on August 1, 1978, is an American jazz pianist and composer. At age 19, he produced his debut album First Stories. In 2004, Nelson released his second album, Anticipation, featuring all original compositions. He signed with Native Language Music in 2007 and released Let It Go, which included collaborations with Seamus Blake, Sara Gazarek, and Anthony Wilson. His subsequent albums include I Hear a Rhapsody (2009), influenced by standards and rock songs, and Discoveries (2011), inspired by the writings of Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, and Nikola Tesla. Nelson has worked with notable musicians such as Jeff Hamilton, Peter Erskine, and Sara Gazarek, serving as her musical director for several projects. He toured worldwide with vocalist Natalie Cole. One of Gazarek's albums, featuring a band led by Nelson, reached number 10 on Billboard's Top Jazz Albums chart.
