Global Kryner is an Austrian folk group from Vienna formed in 2002 by Christof Spörk and Sebastian Fuchsberger. They released their self-titled debut studio album, Global Kryner (2004), which earned gold certification and appeared on the Austrian charts for over 40 weeks. In (2005), they represented Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest with the single “Y así” (2005), but they did not progress beyond the semi-final. Their subsequent studio albums include Krynology (2005), Weg (2007), and the live recording Live in Luxembourg (2008). They released the collaboration Global Kryner versus The Rounder Girls (2009) followed by the studio album Coverstories (2011). Although the group disbanded in October 2013 following a farewell tour, they returned to activity in 2024 with a new lineup featuring singer Miriam Kulmer. They released the single “Die With A Smile” (2025) and the album 2nd Love (2026). Their style is characterized by a blend of Alpine Oberkrainer sound with jazz and pop influences.
