Marie Alice Albertine Robitaille, also known as Alys Robi, born on February 3, 1923, in Quebec City, Canada, was a singer. She began performing at local events and radio stations from the age of four. By 1936, she moved to Montreal and joined the Théâtre national troupe under Rose Ouellette. Robi's breakthrough came in 1942 with the recording of "Tico Tico" and "Bésame Mucho", which gained her significant popularity during World War II. She translated several songs into French and English, including "Adios Muchachos" and "Je te tiens sur mon cœur". Robi's international career included performances in New York, London, and Hollywood. However, an accident in 1948 marked the decline of her international career. Robi passed away on May 28, 2011, in Montreal.
