yelworC, a dark electro project from Germany, formed in Munich between December 1987 and January 1988, and was originally known as livE of yelworC. Founding members Peter Schiffmann and Oliver Büttner released several demo tapes before signing with Celtic Circle Productions and releasing their debut album, Brainstorming, in 1992. Their music featured gloomy synthesizers, abrasive dance beats, and distorted vocals, often incorporating audio samples from horror films. In 1994, yelworC disbanded, with Büttner forming amGod and Schiffmann retaining the rights to the yelworC name. Schiffmann returned in 2004 with Trinity, the first yelworC album in over a decade, followed by Icolation in 2007. These albums were part of a planned trilogy inspired by Dante's The Divine Comedy. In 2024, the band released The Ghosts I Called, an album of new material compiled since 2013.
