Savage Messiah, a British thrash metal band from London, was formed in May 2007 by guitarist and lead vocalist Dave Silver. The group initially consisted of Silver, Joff Bailey on guitar, Míra Sláma on bass, Carlos Alcalde De Lema on keyboards, and Charly Carretón on drums. Their debut self-financed EP Spitting Venom was released in October 2007 by SMR Productions, receiving positive reviews. In January 2009, the band signed with Candlelight Records and released their first full-length album, Insurrection Rising. The album's success led to a European tour supporting Overkill. In August 2010, Savage Messiah signed with Earache Records, releasing their second album, Plague of Conscience, in January 2012. Their third album, The Fateful Dark, was released in 2014, featuring the track "Hellblazer" which received regular play on Scuzz TV.
