New Hollow was formed in 2009 in New Albany, Ohio, by high‑school students Michael “Mookie” Clouse, Evan West, and Benjamin Gager, who initially performed as Monkee Hollow. The trio released their debut single "SiCK" on November 1, 2010, which entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number 86 and sold over 140,000 units by early 2011, establishing the band’s early commercial footing. In 2014, the group issued the single "She Ain't You", which peaked in the twenties on the Mediabase Top 40 and Hot AC charts after a re‑release under Epic Records; the single also earned a placement on SiriusXM’s “Top 30 Countdown Of 2013” and was voted “Breakthrough Song Of 2013” by The Pulse. Following a brief split with Epic in May 2015, New Hollow signed with Bee & El/Sony Music Entertainment and released the EP New Hollow in 2016, featuring tracks such as "Popstar" and "Jiffy Jane" (Revolver Mix). The band’s collaborative work included the 2015 Blues Traveler track "Jackie’s Baby" co‑written with John Popper. After relocating to Nashville in 2018, New Hollow released White Converse in 2020, and in 2024 returned with the anthology New Hollow Anthology 2008‑2013 and singles "Ambien" and "Wish I Was You". The latest single, "HAPPY", was issued in June 2025 on Monkee Hollow Records, marking the group’s continued presence in the pop‑rock landscape.
