Mary Goes Round was a French cold wave band formed in 1986 by Jerome Avril and Cecile Balladino. Under the name Red Light, the band opened for Sonic Youth at the Rex Club in Paris. The band changed their name following the concert. The band released their debut album, Sunset, in 1989, followed by 70 Suns in the Sky. Their subsequent albums include Highway Planet (1990) and Mary in Wonderland (1991). The group disbanded in 1993 after a national tour. Mary Goes Round is considered a key band in the French alternative scene of the late 1980s and is associated with other bands like Asylum Party and Little Nemo.
