Los Berrones, a rock group from Asturias, Spain, formed in the late 1980s with Ramón Blanco, Tante Blanco, Olegario Méndez, and Rubén Buelga. They began playing together for fun during summers in Tolivia, Laviana, Asturias. In 1987, they purchased instruments and equipment, leading to their first concerts. Their breakthrough came in 1988 when they became finalists in a contest by Los 40 Principales, allowing them to record their debut single. The success of "Nun yes tu" from this single led to the release of their first album, Voy dicítelo (Fechu n'Asturies), in 1989, which sold over 20,000 copies. They continued to release albums throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, including Da-y fuerte (1998) and República Independiente de Tolivia (2003).
