Boris Georgievich Abalyan, born on October 28, 1947 is a Russian choral conductor and professor. He began his musical education at the Mikhail Glinka Choral College in Saint Petersburg, followed by studies at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory and postgraduate work. In 1987, Abalyan founded the Lege Artis Chamber Choir, serving as its chief conductor. Abalyan's contributions to choral music were formally acknowledged when he was named an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation in 2005. He is a jury member of many prestigious international choral competitions.
