Silvestre is a Chilean rock band formed in Santiago in September 2004. Founded by Nicolás Torres, former drummer for Entreklles and Pettinellis, the group included Felipe Hinojosa, Miguel Navarro, Sebastián Aracena, and Benjamín Warnken to create a project Torres had envisioned since 1998. The band performs a blend of cueca, cumbia, and rock and roll. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2005, followed by Me Están Buscando (2007) and Tuya, Mía... Para Ti, Para Mí (2009). In 2007, they performed at Vive Latino Chile and for 25,000 people at the Día de la Música Nacional. After playing the 2011 Festival del Huaso de Olmué, the group toured Europe and performed at the Latinoamericando festival in Milan. Later recordings include ¡Galopa! (2013), Quiero Fiesta (2015), and Árboles (2017). In 2014, Silvestre won the best interpreter award at the 45th Festival del Huaso de Olmué for their version of Los Jaivas' “Sube a nacer conmigo hermano”.
