Hilde Heltberg was a Norwegian singer, guitarist, and songwriter. She began her career in the late 1970s by entering a talent competition judged by Stein Ove Berg, who became her mentor. She later joined the band Uncle John's Band and, in 1982, X-tra with Trond Granlund. That same year, she released her self-titled debut solo album, while her breakthrough as a solo artist came with På Bare Bein (1983), produced by Jonas Fjeld. Over her career, she released a total of 12 albums. Heltberg also participated in the Norwegian qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest three times as an artist and once as a songwriter. She passed away from cancer on September 4, 2011.
