Born on September 5, 1982, in Hsinchu, Taiwan, veteran pop vocalist Cyndi Wang has enjoyed a significant career as a TV actress alongside her work as a prolific singer. She emerged in 2003 with the debut album Begin... and has released 12 studio albums to date, including 2004's Cyndi Loves You, 2005's Honey, two compilation albums – Shining Cyndi 2005 (2005) and Red Cyndi (2008) –and 2018's CYNDILOVES2SING for Universal Music Taiwan. As the recipient of five music awards, Wang's songs have topped the Mandopop awards show Hito Music Awards for three consecutive years, while her track "Become Strangers" also received two Hito awards in 2013. As an actress, she has starred in numerous TV dramas, including Westside Story (2003), Heaven's Wedding Gown (2004), and Smiling Pasta (2006), as well as movies including 2009 Taiwanese film Candy Rain.
