Terry Waldo is an American pianist, composer, and historian. As a child, he immersed himself in music through his neighbor’s extensive jazz recordings and piano rolls. He began classical piano studies at age eight, quickly expanding into jazz and ragtime, and later learned trumpet, tuba, string bass, cello, drums, banjo, and organ. His discography includes Sounds of Ragtime and Vaudeville (1974), Jazz Babies (1979), and Wizard Of The Keyboard (1980), among many others. After relocating to New York City in 1984, he performed at major jazz venues and formed Waldo’s Ragtime Orchestra and the Gotham City Band, collaborating with notable artists such as Susan La Marche, Leon Redbone, and Tatiana Eva-Marie.
