Ana-Marija Markovina is a classical pianist born on April 24, 1970, in Osijek, Croatia. Markovina began musical education at age five and studied at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold and Weimar under teachers including Vitaly Margulis, Anatol Ugorski, and Paul Badura-Skoda. Markovina completed studies with a concert exam jury at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin. Markovina's career includes notable performances at festivals such as the Bachtage Ansbach and the Beethovenfest Bonn. Markovina performed extensively across Europe, Central America, North America, and Asia, collaborating with orchestras like the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and the Oulu Symphony Orchestra. Markovina received critical acclaim for the recording Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach: Gesamteinspielung des Klavierwerks (2014), released by Hänssler CLASSIC, which won the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik and Choc de Classica.
