Yuval Banai (יובל בנאי), born on June 9, 1962, in Tel Aviv, Israel, is an Israeli musician and singer. During his service in the Artillery Corps of the Israel Defense Forces, he met guitarist Shlomi Braha and formed a band together after their military service ended. In 1984, they officially formed Mashina, releasing their debut album in 1985. Over the next decade, Mashina released several successful albums before disbanding in May 1995. Banai then pursued a solo career with albums such as יובל בנאי (1997), רש"י דאב (1999), and נשאר במקום (2001). Mashina reformed in 2003, releasing the album רומנטיקה עתידנית in 2005. Banai's solo album מעבר להרים, produced by Allan Moon, was released in 2008. In addition to his musical career, Banai has acted in films and television shows, including Summertime Blues and Nadia, as well as serving as a mentor on The Voice Israel.
