Cheater Slicks is an American garage punk band formed in Boston in 1987. They initially experimented with different singers before Tom Shannon and Dana Hatch assumed vocal duties. They released their debut album On Your Knees in 1989. They went through several bassists, including Dina Pearlman, Allan Paulinho, and Merle Allin, before deciding to go bassless. They released the albums Destination Lonely in 1992 and Whiskey in 1993. They relocated to Columbus, Ohio, in 1996. They recorded notable songs including "If Heaven Is Your Home" in 1990 and "Chaos" in 1991. Mudhoney covered their song "Ghost" on the album Tomorrow Hit Today. They released several albums on In The Red Records, including Don't Like You in 1995, Forgive Thee in 1998, Refried Dreams in 1999, and Yer Last Record in 2003. Their 20th anniversary show was held in 2007. Almost Ready Records re-released three of their albums on vinyl: Our Food Is Chaos: Allen Paulino Session in 2011, On Your Knees in 2016, and Destination Lonely in 2017.
