Franz Haselböck, born on March 28, 1939 in Maria Langegg, Austria, was an organist and music educator. He began his musical journey as a choirboy at Stift Göttweig and later studied at the Vienna Music Academy under Walter Pach and Anton Heiller. His career included numerous recordings of organ works and editions of previously unpublished pieces. In 1960, Haselböck won the prize at the International Summer Academy for Organists in Haarlem. Throughout his career, he received several awards including the Förderungspreis des Landes Niederösterreich in 1978 and 1987, and the Goldenes Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um das Bundesland Niederösterreich in 2001. Haselböck passed away on February 11, 2024, in Krems an der Donau. He was married and had two sons and was buried on February 16, 2024, in Senftenberg
