Dragon Fli Empire, a Canadian hip hop duo comprising Tarik Robinson (Teekay) and Adam Hicks (DJ Cosm), formed in Calgary in May 2002. Their debut album, Conquest, was released locally in 2002 and officially in August 2004. The track "Mount Pleasant" gained radio airplay. Their second album, Invasion (2005), reached number 5 on the !earshot Canadian campus radio charts. In 2009, they released their third full-length album, Redefine, which featured collaborations with artists like Cadence Weapon and Masta Ace. The album topped the !earshot and Chart Attack hip hop charts for two weeks and was nominated for Best Rap / Hip Hop Recording at the 2009 Western Canadian Music Awards. Dragon Fli Empire has toured extensively across Canada, Europe, and parts of the U.S., performing at festivals like Shambhala and Under Pressure. Their music has also been featured on the television series Peak Season and travel documentary show Word Travels.
