Waltz for Debbie was a Swedish indie pop band formed in 1996 by Annica Lundbäck and Martin Permer, who met while studying at the University of Lund. The duo initially gained attention with their first single "You & I & Brett & Alice", released in 1998 under Stockholm Records. In 1999, Labrador Records signed them, leading to the release of the singles "He Loves Anna" (1999) and "Once Upon a Time" (2000), which became a significant radio hit in Sweden. These singles were included on their debut album Gone and Out, released in June 2000. The album was later distributed internationally, reaching Spain, Japan, and the USA by 2001.
