SDNMT, originally known as Seidenmatt, is a post-rock band formed in 2001 in Berlin, Germany and consisted of Jan Heinemann on guitar, Florian Koller on bass, Matthias Horn on drums, and Martin Eichhorn handling samples. Their debut album Wasserluft was released in 2003, featuring instrumental tracks influenced by bands like Mogwai and Sigur Rós. In 2005, SDNMT released their second album If You Use This Software Often - Buy It, which introduced vocals contributed by Felix Räuber of Polarkreis 18. In 2007, Sebastian Cleemann joined as the lead vocalist and guitarist. Their third album, The Goal is to Make the Animals Happy, was also released in 2007 with additional instrumentation from guest musicians.
