Larry Clinton, born August 17, 1909, in Brooklyn, New York, was an American musician known for his versatility as a trumpeter and later as a prominent bandleader and arranger. He began his career playing multiple instruments and became a prolific orchestrator for notable dance bands. Clinton's first significant breakthrough came in 1937 when he started leading his own band, recording hits like "The Dipsy Doodle" and "My Reverie", which reached Number 1 on the Billboard Disc Buying Guide in 1938. His repertoire included pop standards and ambitious instrumental pieces. During World War II, Clinton served in the U.S. Army Air Forces, returning to music post-war. He passed away on May 2, 1985, in Tucson, Arizona.
