He began his professional career in theater as an actor and director before transitioning to the French chanson genre. He performed at festivals such as Avignon Off and established a repertoire characterized by humor and wordplay. His recording career included the work L'Amour d'un brave type, released in 2004. He followed this with the recording Le régime de l'amour in 2011. Morel collaborated with various musicians and stage directors throughout his career in both theater and music.
