The Four Esquires were an American vocal quartet from Boston, Massachusetts, consisting of Bill Courtney Frank Mahoney, Wally Gold, Bob Golden and William Powers. All members were students at Boston University. Following their studies, they signed with London Records in March 1956. Their version of "Look Homeward Angel" gained attention but was overshadowed by Johnnie Ray's rendition. The quartet achieved chart success with two singles on Paris Records: "Love Me Forever", which peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1957 and number 23 on the UK Singles Chart, and featured orchestral backing by Sid Bass. This was followed by "Hideaway" backed by Richard Hayman, reaching number 21 in the US in 1958. In 1963, they recorded a vocal cover of the James Bond Theme. The group disbanded shortly thereafter. Wally Gold passed away on June 7, 1998 and Bill Courtney Frank Mahoney died in 2007.
