Susan Farrell Egan, born February 18, 1970, in Seal Beach, California, is an American actress and singer. She began her career performing in local community theaters while attending Los Alamitos High School and UCLA. Her breakthrough came when Tommy Tune cast her as Kim MacAfee in the touring production of Bye Bye Birdie. Egan's most notable role was originating the part of Belle in the Broadway musical adaptation of Beauty and the Beast (1994), for which she received nominations for the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical at the 48th Tony Awards and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical. She reprised her role in the Los Angeles production in 1995. In 2002, she released her debut album, So Far..., followed by Coffee House in 2004.
